English vocabulary, word by word

For families with primary-school children. Over 1,300 words with a picture and an English voice. They learn them by listening, reading, saying and writing, and each one comes back a few days later so it isn't forgotten.

Start for freeNo card. One profile and three rounds a day.

What they'll learn

It starts with the first colours and numbers — the school words: animals, food, the house — and climbs to B1 vocabulary. The words are grouped into collections that fill up in the album.

  • Wild animals
  • Stories and fantasy
  • Transport
  • Clothes and accessories
  • At the table
  • Sports
  • 50 collections in all

It starts at the right level

If they already know a bit, a ten-word test on the first day puts them at their level, so they don't repeat what they already know.

Questions about the course

What age is it for?

It's designed for primary-school children. If they can't read yet, they can play just by listening and saying, and if a younger one plays, it's best with someone beside them.

What if we don't speak it at home?

You don't need to. The app picks what comes up each day and, when there's a decision to make, it brings it to you with a button in the adults area.

Which English is it?

One single voice, clear and the same for every word, with an American accent. Later on we'll consider adding a British accent too.
